Mornington is the hillside suburb of Wellington behind Brooklyn, with Vogelmorn's community precinct on the corner, the town belt at the top and Brooklyn village a few minutes down the road.

Mornington sits on the slopes between Brooklyn and Kingston, and it has the feel of a place people stay in. The houses are family homes with gardens, the streets are quiet, and the view from the upper ones takes in the harbour and the hills behind the Hutt.
Vogelmorn is the heart of it. The old bowling club on Mornington Road has become a community precinct with a cafe, a bar upstairs and a hall that hosts everything from theatre rehearsals to exercise classes, and Vogelmorn Park beside it has the fields and the playground.
Brooklyn's village is the local high street: the Penthouse Cinema, the deli, the bistro and the grocer are all a few minutes away, and the bus through Brooklyn runs into the city.
Behind the suburb the town belt tracks climb to the ridge and the wind turbine, and from there the paths run south to Ōwhiro Bay and west towards Zealandia. Macalister Park and the golf course are just over the hill in Berhampore.
